0.33 l bottle from 'Hopfenrausch', best before June 2019. If you can't make it to Cologne Craft Beer Festival 😧 ... Hazy, orangeish amber with a medium large, foamy, stable, white head. Sweetish, fairly fruity, slightly grassy and a little Braustelle trademark bretty aroma of lemon, gooseberry, orange and traces of manure. Just slightly sweet, fairly dry, moderately bitter, quite fruity and slightly grassy taste of lemon, gooseberry, pineapple and some cat piss, followed by a short, gently bitter, fairly dry and slightly grassy finish. Thin to medium body, rather effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Decent Pale Ale, unfortunately over-carbonated.

0.33 l bottle from 'Hopfenrausch', best before March 2020. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of caramel, toasted nuts, vanilla, coffee and oats. Gently sweet, malty, slightly roasty taste of caramel, toasted nuts, coffee, licorice, oats and some vanilla, followed by a short, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very tame, dull, still drinkable.

0.33 l bottle from 'CraftBeer-Dealer.com', 2018 version at 14% abv, aged for three months on rum barrels from Belize. Black with just a few beige bubbles on top. Intensely sweetish, malty, gently roasty, slightly boozy and a bit fruity aroma of praline, coffee, licorice, coconut, rum, some vanilla and hints of dark fruits. Fairly sweet, malty, gently roasty, slightly boozy and a bit fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, loads of rum, coconut, some vanilla and traces of dark fruits, followed by a long, quite roasty-bitter, earthy and gently boozy finish. Medium to full body, almost oily mouthfeel, nearly flat. Really intense stuff, very heavy on the rum but not as boozy as feared, so still very pleasant! However, it's not as good as the whisky variant by any means.

Süffiger, deutlich säuerlicher Beginn. Trocken getreidig-holzig, etwas röstig, dabei könnte die Säure ungewollt sein, in jedem Falle passt sie aber gut. Spritzig, sehr trocken, mittellanger Abgang mit Noten von Kirsche. 10/8/9/9//9

Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and slightly spicy aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, coffee and some nuts. Gently sweet, malty, moderately roasty, slightly fruity and a little spicy taste of dark chocolate, licorice, coffee, some dark fruits and traces of nuts, followed by a short, gently roasty-bitter finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent Stout/Porter, pretty smooth and quaffable.
