Hoppy Road is a French brewery founded in Nancy in 2017 by Julien Pecheur, Lucas Del Biondo and Charles Sanner. Julien and Lucas started as homebrewer, and after winning the first prize in 2015 at the Paris Beer Week, they decided to start brewing studies at the Institut de la Brasserie et de la Malterie. In 2017 they joined with Charles and started with the brewery. Their brewery in Nancy has a capacity of 2.000 Hl per year.

F: big, dark tanned, good retention. C: black, opaque. A: cocoa, chocolate, dark malts, bit vanilla, bit vinous, dried dark fruits, dark caramel. T: thick chocolate, cocoa, dry on the palate, toffee, bit roasted tones, plums, vinous, oily mouthfeel, very nice almost complex, need for BA version, full body, low carbonation, sample draft @ Swafff! Brussels Craft Beer Festival – 2nd. day.

F: off-white, thin, quick gone. C: red with yellowish hue, hazy. A: bit raspberries, bit red fruits, bit sour fruity. T: light raspberries, bit citric, watery lemon, very simple yet refreshing, enjoyed, light body and medium carbonation, sample draft shared with RB crew @ Swafff! Unclear, orange-golden colored, medium white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, bit biscuit, moderately hoppy, pine, citrus and fruity. Taste is medium+ sweet malt, caramel, biscuit, medium hoppy citrus, fruity and pine hops, medium+ bitterness, dryish finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, oily. Decent but not great.

Tap at La Fine Mousse, Paris, 23rd May 18. Pours black, aroma is cocoa, liquorice, some pith, taste is bitter, citrus, coffee, bitter chocolate, really big bitter finish and linger. Good hop forward BIPA.

Thank you for sharing! Sampled draft @ Swafff 2018. Dark brown, black, little head. Nose is chocolate mocha, lactose, milk chocolate sweet, nice smell. Taste is plastic, strange wort, sweet plastic big vanilla, chocolate, mocha, smell is bit better, touch too plastic, mocha, vanilla. Mocha, plastic, vanilla body, imperfect but okay.

Thank you for sharing! Sampled draft @ Swafff 2018. Cool name. Black, creamy tanned head. Nose is massive coffee, very big fresh coffee, mocha, low roasted. All coffee, fresh, roast, low roast, very thick, very simple and more coffee than hoppy, bit basic but tasty for sure.
