Description
Everything started in 1925 with our first cider mill. We opened in Lavandera, a small, countryside town just a few kilometers from Gijon. This is where it all began.

Nowadays, Lavandera is still home to the headquarters of Casa Trabanco cider house and where we work every day. It also serves as a meeting point for the many visitors and friends we welcome through our cider-tourism project.

26/12 A 0.70 l bottle, from Oviedo, actually. It poured slightly hazy golden body with tiny head that dissipated immediately. Somewhat sweet and sour apple aroma. Flavor was lightly sour apple, but not much as the other ciders of the style, also had unpleasant rotten notes. Thin bodied with moderate, sour a only a little astringent finish. Missed body and tartness, first of all. Expected more anyway.

Natko got this one thinking it was the Extra Brut, shame, but enormous thanks for bringing it all the way from Gijón! And he made a show of pouring it "the proper way" heh. Anyway, poured a murky yellow body. Nose... sweet apples, nice, some glue, vinegar, light sourness. The taste is immediately lighter than expected. Soft and mild, glue, dry, light appley sourness, kinda fresh, not that bad.

29/11 0.70 l bottle @Sidreria Asturias, Oviedo. It poured hazy yellow body with medium sized head. Quite weak, tart apple aroma. Flavor was sour, but not as usual, somewhat sweet fruity towards the end. Clean, without notes of yeast or cork, medium bodied with long, tart apple finish. I’d prefer more straightforward sourness, although people who are not used to or don’t like very sour things might find this a good gate to Spanish natural cider style. A pleasant example anyhow.
