Bottle: Poured a deep beige color ale with an nice foamy head with better then average retention. Aroma of floral hops is well balance with some bitterness. Taste is mix between some floral hops and a subtle citrus bitter finish. Body is slightly above average with some decent carbonation. I thought this was a bit low in the malt profile department but apart from that it was a good APA.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a huge medium brown color head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with some buts and light hops is very interesting. Taste is maltier then expected with huge caramel malt with some nuts. The finish is slightly bitter but less then expected for an Imperial brown ale; it appear that the imperial is related to the malt as opposed to the hops which is quite interesting. Body is above average with some medium carbonation. Overall, I would say that this was a well done beer in what is often a boring style.

Brown bottle, 0,5 l, batch 229, purchased on February 5 2007, savoured on February 25 2007; eye: tan head made up of bubbles of various sizes, burnt orange with caramel reflections, hazy, no effervescence, presence of lacing; nose: quite hoppy, a little caramel, unknown but unpleasant odeour that appears as the beer warms up; mouth: hops, hops, hops, grapefruit, discreet malt but that provides a nice support to the hops, a thin carpet of caramel underneath all of that hops, hint of plpper that reveals the discreete presence of the alcohol, really long and dry finale in hops with a nice presence of grapefruit, grainy and somewhat creamy texture, quite bitter, full body, not much carbonated, light astringence; overall: quite enjoyable FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 0,5 l, batch 229,a cheté le 5 février 2007, savourée le 25 février 2007; oeil : mousse fauve faite de bulles de tailles diverses, orange brulée avec des reflets caramel, voilée, pas d’effervescence, pas mal de dentelle; nez : pas mal houblonnée, filet de malt caramélisé, odeur inconnue et désagréable qui apparaît alors que la bière se réchauffe; bouche : houblon, houblon, houblon, pamplemousse, malt reste discret mais donne un bel appui au houblon, petit tapis de caramel sous tout ce houblon, petite pointe de poivre qui révèle la présence discrète de l’alcool, très longue finale sèche en houblon avec une belle présence de pamplemousse, texture granuleuse et crémeuse, assez amère, corsée, peu carbonatée, légère astringence; en résumé : bien aimée

Unpasteurized, unfiltered it certainly is. Light mahogany, with amber and tan hues. High clarity, leaving the sediment behind. Big beige head is full and rocky, being expertly retained and lacing quite profusely.
Popping the cap exposes some yeast phenol/esters, but they fully pass with breathing and it’s all pure pleasure from there. Controlled roastiness in the aroma gives plenty of hazelnut that melds with light pale malts to give a creamy-sweet hazelnut coffee-drink like nose. Soft, mildly fruity hops, with light earthiness and gentle grassiness give light bitterness/dryness and some bits of milk chocolate are noted on the finish. A touch of sourness, not sure if its malt tannin, or vinousness, but my guess is a moderate prune vinousness and anise-like maltiness. Vanilla cream smooths things with breathing, giving the coffee a more round, approachableness. Nice and full aroma, strong but not overdone. No alcohol noted. Maybe just a bit too much acidity/tartness for a brown ale, but otherwise quite inviting.
The light tartness is just ever-so slightly apparent in flavor, just a bit too heavy on the roasted malts, adding a touch of char-like slickness. But mostly, it’s a fantastically soft, unfiltered texture, with fluffy, tight carbonation and perfectly balanced maltiness lending chocolate, coffee and creamy sweetness. Minimal, peppery hops with some light fruity esters and just a wonderful hazelnut flavor through and through. Pleasing hop bitterness seals the deal. Tremendously drinkable. Wish this was available in six packs for a cheaper price!

Bottle: Poured a deep peachy color ale with a nice foamy head with average retention. Aroma of ester yeast with some sweet malt and light spices and fruit is quite enjoyable. Taste is mix between some sweet malt with some ester yeast and light spices. I thought the taste might have a been a bit too sweet with no enough floral hops to sustain comparison to some of the great saison out there but it was still very enjoyable and something I would love to drink more often.

Bottle. Small head with short duration. Color is amber. Aroma is stong and hoppy. Taste is quite hoppy too. Tasted more like an IPA actually.
