500 ml bottle. Hazy orange beer with a big frothy white head. Lovely citrus fruity flavour with some hint of banana. A tasteful fresh bier somewhere between Saison Dupont and a Belgium wit. Some pleasant undefined bitterness in the finish, could easily be a habit-forming beer for my taste. Difficult to define if this is a true Saison or not, but no doubt another great beer from Nøgne Ø.

Bottle 0.5l. Batch 141. Completely black with a tanned head lasting a few minutes. Aroma of coffe, roasted malt and chocolate. Medium body, and an unvaried aftertaste. Very good together with dark chocolate. Also enjoyed with vanilla icecream as a dessert. A perfect combination. KI=2.

Bottle conditioned ale. Batch 151. BB: June 06. Golden colour. Nice white head that last for a while. A bit hazy appearance. Aromatic hops. Some carbonation. Fruity and hoppy flavour. Refreshing. Bitterness in a relatively short finish. A beautifully rounded and balanced bitter.

Small white head, quickly shrinking to thin white ring. Light brown hazy body. Light, clean aroma of citrusy hops with sweet malty notes. Taste is bitter, sweetish malty with deep citrus/resin hop flavour. Aftertaste is bitter citrus. Bitterness lingers, with spicy notes. Oily mouthfeel. A very, very good IPA, and a quite heavy one, too. (Bottle, batch #207.)

500 ml bottle, courtesy of "Venner av Nøgne Ø". Like all NØ beers bottle conditioned. This beer has just been released for sale in some pubs, will be for sale in Vinmonopolet stores in May. I might rerate in May, if there is any significant development of the flavour profile by then. Pours (or rather: gushes out of the bottle) with a large white head, beer is hazy pale golden. Very nice fruity (citrus, green apples) and yeasty aroma, hints of spices, oak, leather and barnyard. Flavour is moderately sweet with a distinct spiciness and decent hops. Shouldn’t a saison have slightly more acidity? After a light and refreshing start there is a solid wormwood-like bitterness in the finish, not unlike Saison Dupont.

Black color; creamy head. Quite ordinary Porter, with a light malt and hop aroma, and a medium malty taste. Quite long final.

Bottle from Ølbutikken in Tromsdalen. Very dark body. Characteristically outmeal with hints of dark chocolate and coffee. Fairly dry. The body has a creamy and silky smoothness with some roast flavours. A bit oily impression.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of "Venner av Nøgne Ø". Like all NØ beers bottle conditioned. Pitch black colour, impenetrable for light. Large and thick brown head. Lovely aroma with vinous qualities, also notes of Colombian coffee, liquorice, chocolate and dark dried fruits. Flavour is dominated by strong notes of bitter coffee, mixed with a substantial malty sweetness, hints of molasses. Also some acidic notes, I’m not sure if they are wanted or not. Strong "coffee" bitterness in the long aftertaste.
