Description
Dockyard Brewing Company is Bermuda’s only microbrewery, and has the distinction of being the only producer of any type of adult beverage that can put the “Totally Made in Bermuda” stamp on all of its products. Currently featuring 8 different types of beers and ales, Dockyard Brewing is a favourite destination of locals and tourists alike who wish to sample artisanal beverages of exceptional quality.

We brew what we sell right behind the Frog and Onion in a 250 year old stone warehouse. Our facility is a true craft microbrewery, only producing 1000 kegs a year. We brew 8 varieties of beers and ales, and our style of brewing is decidedly British, using cask style kegging methods, so heavy over carbonation is replaced by smoothly creamy, perfectly balanced natural carbonation through fermenting yeasts. As well as only brewing in small intimate batches, we don’t pasteurize our beers, and cold store them for total freshness and authentic tastes. Some of our beers and ales are also unfiltered, so will have a slight natural cloudiness to them. Can’t choose which one to try? Why not a Sampler, and try 6 delicious tastings of our local brews. Sit back and relax in our Beer Garden and enjoy the expansive historic views of the Victualling yard, right at Frog and Onion.

We are proud to offer a variety of our beers in our Hamilton locations, including Barracuda Grill, Brew, Hog Penny and Pickled Onion.

Faint brown to black. Not too dark. 1 finger tight bubbles head. Unsweet chocolate, Licorice, francelico aroma. Not as creamy mouthfeel as I’d expect. Chocolate is week. Milk sugar finish. Chalky, dry and very light

On tap at the Pickled Onion in Bermuda. Their summer seasonal. This is much better than their regular IPA. A little malt forward - but I have to remember it is an english IPA and not american. Clear as can be, copper-gold with full and sustained white head. Orange and doughy bread. Not too bad.

Bottled from keg, huge thanks to ZWR! Cloudy orange amber, small head. Lightly grapefruity nose with notes of caramel and minerals. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and husky malt, lightly grapefruity hops. Mid intensity resiny bitterness.

On draught at the front street spot in Hamilton. A little bit of cardboard and old malt aroma...but not too much. Clear copper with minimal off white head. Nice lacing. Taste is thin and moderate low malt. Moderate bitterness for style. Lacking in taste, but does not have a lot of off flavor.

Sampler at Frog and Onion. Overt coffee roast with moderate low chocolate. Opaque deep brown with dark tan head that leaves a collar. Taste is solid clean roast. Toasty malt throughout. The best of the sampler.

Sampler at Frog and Onion. Earth and noble hop aroma in moderate amount. Slightly hazy golden with almost no head. Taste is moderate low juicy citrus. Taste is flat and dull. With the lack of head and character in the beer, this may not be what they are shooting for.
