About
Hornbeer is a farmhouse brewery founded in the beginning of 2008 by Gunhild and Jorgen Fogh Rasmussen. The first brewery was very small, brewing only 300 liter batches. But end of July 2008 the brewery burnt down to the ground. Now Gunhild and Jorgen had to start again from scratch. In January 2009 the new brewery started operations. Nowadays the production is around 2000 hl/year. Hornbeer is well known for a very different assortment. Hornbeer´s philosophy is that the beers should be distinctive but still very drinkable.

Bottled. Deep amber colour with a mediumsized longlasting white foamy head. Aroma is dried fruit, some alcohol, spices and mild toffeeish tones. Flavour is alcohol, dried fruits, some toffee, mild sugary elements with some caramel and mild burnt sugary tones too.

Draught. Hazy orangeish golden colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is fruity, some slight acidic tones, farmyard and mild red wine notes to it. Flavour is wooden, some farmyard, mild acidic floral and fruity tones with a bit of caramel to it. Somewhat dry palate.

Bottled@Björntasting 2018. Orangeish amber colour with a small white head. Aroma is niely nectary, fruity and floral. Flavour is fruity, floral, some nectary and honeyish notes along with some toffee and mild crisp maltiness to it.

Bottled. An unclear nut brown beer with a fast disappearing tan head. The aroma has notes of lemons, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with an acidic edge and notes of candy sugar, lemons, and malt, leading to a dry finish. Seems like it is slightly off - 18 months before best before.
