330mL bottle, pours a cloudy opaque dark amber with a small white head. Nose is fruity and yeasty, with red berries, some resinous hops and lots of dirty yeast. Flavour is perfumey, floral and yeasty, with perfumey and floral hops, lots of yeast, and a bit of booze. It's messy, dirty and jumbled, but it's still not bad. Solid mess.

From a 330ml bottle on 17/4/2016. Pours a slightly cloudy dark golden/amber with a medium head. The aroma is dense fruity and yeasty. Tastes of sweet stone fruit (peach, apricot), with a bit of tropical fruit (mango) in there too, against a malt background that’s a touch biscuity. Features a big, quite resiny, spicy, yeasty bitterness. Has a fullish body and moderate carbonation. My kid brother didn’t rate this but I think it’s a very drinkable DIPA. Not typically American in style - it actually has a bit of Pirate Life IIPA about it, which is not a bad thing.

Bottle. Pale amber with a thin white head. Aroma of peach, grapefruit, a little passionfruit. Not much in the way of body or malt presence. Maybe a lick of caramel. Stone fruit, grapefruit, not much of a tropical influence. Firmish bitterness with some pine needles at the end.

Clear gold with a white head that’s soon a coat. Aroma of quinces, apple blossoms, a little caramel, oak. A nice balance of sweet and sour with hay, sweet apples, quinces, some leather, peppery oak. After a while I flatter myself into thinking maybe there’s a little berry flavour with the peppery oak and that must be the pink peppercorn. Dry and slightly bitter at the end. Quite a bit going on and balanced so everything sits together.

Bottle. Just hazy gold with a white head that’s soon less than a coat. Aroma of apples, apricots, cereal. Lots of lactic slickness, almost slimy. Grainy and apricot sweetness, moderate and vaguely spicy sourness. Salty at the end with a little zingy Sichaun pepper. Pleasant enough but not really all that refreshing.
