Cidery in Tarrant Gunville, Dorset, England 🏴
The Meadens have been farming here since 1921 and Bill is the fourth generation. The farm shares close links with local Rushmore Estate which is owned by the Pitt Rivers Family. Cranborne Chase Cider is part of the farm's diversification providing full time employment for Bill on the farm.
Whilst predominately Bill's business, the whole family become involved helping out during busy times.

On tap at London Cider House, pours a hazy golden with no head. Aroma is very dry, with gentle horse blanket, dry apple skins, and some farmhouse yeast. Flavour is bone dry, with a nice farmhouse funk, bone dry apple, and a pronounced bitterness. Funky, bone dry and flat. Not the most complex but well-made.

Bottle at home, from Cider Incider, 29/05/22. Golden copper pour with a decent sixed white cap as it goes for ciders that dissipates over time but still retains in the form of some edging. Nose is bitter sweet apples, hint of caramel, orchard wood. Taste comprises sweetish apple pulp, tannins, caramel, sugars. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, drying close. Not bad ... a little on the sweet side for my liking.
