750ml bottle bought from the producer at Stroud farmers’ market. Slightly hazy gold with moderate fizz. Fresh, slightly sweet, apple juice aroma with a touch of wood and suggestion of honey. Flavour was sweet and slightly sugary up front, before some decent fruit with a mineral edge and sweetish finish. Good.

From a polypin at the Wellington, Bristol 29/05/10. Hazy, straw coloured. Yeasty aroma of sweetish pear juice. Flavour was sweetish, with some slightly spicy pears,leading to a more dry finish. Very drinkable.

750ml bottle bought from the producer at Bristol Farmers’ Market. Pale gold in colour with a slight haze. Carbonation was moderate but died out quickly after pouring. Tart apple aroma, with some rustic wood, cheese, mushroom and barnyard smells. Flavour was towards the top end of dry - it rmeinded me that Days Cottage dry is about as dry as it gets. However, this meant that the flavour was more enjoyable, with some dry fruit, more wood and barnyard, leading to a tart finish without the acidic edge of the dry. Very enjoyable and on a different planet quality wise to the Gaymer’s cider i tried earlier in the day.

750ml bottle bought from the producer at Stroud Farmers’ Market. Hazy, pale gold with slight carbonation. Aroma of frsh, medium sweet pear juice, with a tart, rustic edge. Easy drinking, with plenty of vaguely spicy fruit, some yeast character and a decent finish that inclined towards dryness. Very enjoyable.

From the barrel at Stroud farmers’ market. Cloudy yellow in colour. Tart aroma of pears with some barnyard notes and oak. Moderately dry in flavour, with a touch of citrus in the background and tart finish. Good (3.2). Re-rate: from the barrel at Bristol Farmers’ Market 18/11/09. The earlier rating was in the summer of 2009. What differed her was that the perry was the newly produced autumn 2009 version. According to the producer, this has not quite finished fermenting. Clear, pale gold in colour with no carbonation. Light aroma of dryish pears, egg and cress and a hint of oak. Flavour was medium, with plenty of juicy, dryish pear fruit followed by naturally syrupy finish that made me think if tinned fruit, with a touch of tartness. I could drink myself to oblivion on this excellent drink. (4.0)

From the barrel at Stroud farmers’ market. Cloudy gold in colour. Aroma of dry apple fruit and a touch of funk. Flavour began with some sweetish apple juice before a dry finish. The addition of some artificial sweetener has tamed the dryness when compared with the draught dry. Good.

Bought from the barrel at Stroud farmers’ market. Cloudy gold in colour. Very tart aroma, with some apple juice and a bint of funk. Flavour had some apple skin before the dryness kicked in - this was massive, to the point of being a salad dressing. Went very well with mature cheddar. Ok.

Thin pale yellow with no head. Weak fruity pear aroma. Tart and dry wood and pear flavour

@GBBF2008 (Days Cottage Dry Perry, 7.5%). Pale golden colour, no head. Aroma is papery dry pear, some blue cheese and wood. Flavour is quite the same with some quite wine-like notes.
