Bag in a box at Bristol Beer Festival, 15/3/2014. Pale gold with a slight haze. Very easy drinking for the strength with some medium dry pear fruits, touch of oak and gentle finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle bought at Bristol Farmers’ Market, autumn 2012 @ 7.5%. A few weeks past its ’best by date’ when drunk in July 2013. Hazy yellow, with a big but short-lived white head. Aroma of sulphur, bone dry pears and a hint of bitter lemon. Flavour was sweeter, with some juicy perry pear, lemon squash and flinty minerals, before a medium dry finish with lingering fruit. Complex and very civilised - I don’t drink enough perry.

75cl bottle from Over Farm, Cheltenham. Nice cloudy farmhouse cider with a blend of classic cider varieties such as Dabinett & Yarlington Mill. A subtle taste, possibly a little watery and doesn’t quite taste 7.5%. Not bad, but certainly not the best the area has to offer.
