(473ml can from masoif.com) Pours near-opaque pale orange juice coloured with a small but stable white ring and some lace. Aroma is fairly sweet and citrus-forward with pulp of grapefruit, navel orange and tangerine most prominent, some citrus oils, soft mango-y sweetness, light to moderate dankness and a little resinous conifer, some biscuit malt poking through too. Flavour is off-dry, again very citrusy with grapefruit pulp to the fore, some soft floral tropicals, a little orange pulp, dominant pepepry grapefruit peel oils and pith from mid sip on, some nice coniferous resins (almost old school) and earth, a little dankness, dry into the finish with light to moderate peppery grapefruit peel and conifer bitterness and a little minerality. Ligh to medium bodied for style, oily but a little thin, average carbonation. I'd have loved a touch more body, which Messo usually has for their DIPAs, but it's a nice symatico hop profile.

(473ml can from masoif.com) Pours near-opaque yellow-gold with a thick white head that's fairly stable and leaves some lace. Aroma of unripe pineapple, papaya, guava, grapefruit pith, green garlic, musky earthy dankness quite prominent. Flavour is bone dry throughout with doughy malt, unripe fruit quality with guava, melon, grapefruit pith and peel, spicy green garlic, herbs, potpourri, finish is super-dry with floral notes, grapefruit pith and creamy unripe guava dominating, light to moderate peppery green garlic bitterness. Light to medium body, slick, fairly soft carbonation. Dry, quenching IPA with a bit of an 'old Messo' hop bite to it.

O:7.15 V:1.75 G:6.45 C:3.75 G:13.0 T:32.1

Bottle: Poured a pale yellow color ale with a medium size foamy head with light retention and some lacing. Aroma of tart notes with some funky ester and light blood orange notes can be detected. Taste is a mix of tart notes with some funky ester and some citrusy blood orange notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well made floored sour but rhubarb notes are hard to distinguish.

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours opaque gold with a thick white head and a little lace. Aroma of mixed pale citrus, especially lime and grapefruit, green melon, kiwi, soft mango, a little dank leafiness. Flavour is quite dry, with notes of lime, green melon, kiwi, citrus pith, fresh leaves, crackery malt, neutral yeast, bone dry finish with lime peel and pith, melon, herbal/floral tones and low bitterness. A little thin in the finish and aftertaste. Light to medium body, creamy carbonation. Solid stuff, a little on the lighter side but intriguing hop combo.

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours opaque bright yellow-orange with a thick white head and heavy lace. Aroma of pineapple and white grapefruit, some rich floral lychee and brigher passionfruit, slightly funky dank overtones, background of slightly bready malt. Flavour is lightly sweet and well-balanced, with sticky grapefruit and pineapple, some mango, kicks of rambutan, nice roundly bready malt, finishing quite dry with a little tingling hop burn but nothing too aggressive, lots of grapefruit bitters and a little peppery green onion, lingering into the finish which has a grapefruit and tart orange juice quench to it. Medium-bodied, oily to creamy, average carbonation, a little alcohol warmth. Usually a big Galaxy fan and this is quite solid a single hop rendition if a little on the spicy side.

(On tap @ La Souche Limoilou, Quebec City, Nov 15/22) Pours pitch black without head. Aroma is wonderfully fudgy dark chocolate for a stout without cacao, as it warms creamy bright floral vanilla, soft anise, well-balanced bourbon barrel caramel and spirits and well-structured wood join the chocolate. Flavour is rich dark chocolate fudge as well while cold but again the palate broadens a lot with warmth, strong creamy floral/fruity vanilla tones, smooth malt with light roast earthiness, well-balanced bourbon barrel that's rich and woody with caramel and dark fruit notes but not excessive spirit heat, moderately sweet but not a sugar bomb, finish is off-dry, chocolate, big floral vanilla, lightly charred wood and lingering bourbon. Full-bodied, thick/syrupy and slightly creamy with soft carbonation. Lovely BA stout, the adjuncts are almost indistinguishable from the base richness so it's not pastry per se and the barrel is handed well. Great mouthfeel. Great to get a big glass of this on tap too!
