Tasting at Ryan's, bottle
Pitch black colour, no head. Aroma of dark chocolate, intense, old wood. Full bodied, a bit oily, lowly crbonated; this is very thick, it's sweet, strong flavour of dark chocolate, carobs, brown sugar, vanilla, and pleasant warming alcohol.
Wonderful.

750ml (thx, Simon P. for the bottle and Max C. for bringing it!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: very dark brown with a weak dark beige head. Aroma: very sweet, vanilla, coconut, bourbon. Taste: very thick and oily, quite sweet, lots of coconut, noticeable bourbon, some light smoke on the finish when it's warmed up. Overall: nice one, maybe a bit oversweet.

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours near-opaque orange-gold with a thick white head and lace. Aroma of sweet orange and canned pineapples, guava, lychee, peach, cut flowers, cannabis, peanut powder, sweat bready malt. Flavour of sweet orange juice and pineapple, pithy citrus hits, some resinous frit peels, floral accents, lactose-tinged doughy malt, peanut vibes (what is it about Messo and this nutty note?), smooth fruity ester vibes, lightly drying with some clear hop heat/burn but not heavy bitterness, some dank and slightly oniony notes, crushed grapefruit peels. Medium-bodied, average carbonation, slight alcohol warmth. Interesting blend of sweet juicy milkshake-inflected DIPA and a serious catty/peppery undertone later in the sip, but doesn't go full green like some Messo (with a bit of age on the can). Solid stuff!
