Thanks to my friend for coming through. Some papaya but by Messorem standards kind of too straightforward.

Thanks to my friend for getting me this. It's good but compared to others they put out, this one is average.

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours opaque orange juice colour with a small white head that fades with spotty lace. Notes a mix of interesting aromatic citrus peels, definitely some lime, backbeats of yuzu and grapefruit, peppery and floral, fairly sweet fruity malt and yeast undertones with a little biscuit, smooth orange flesh and peach/pineapple for sweetness, almost nutty savoury quality towards the back end which is dry, lightly chalky and herbal with low bitterness. Medium bodied, quite oily, softly carbonated. Interesting brew, given the nature of the single hop it's not wildly juicy but count on NZ to bring those peppery, lime peel type vibes which I enjoy in their own right.

Power tasting at Phill's, bottle
Black colour. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa, light tobacco. Bold body, sweet, rich chocolate flavour, chocolate truffles dusted with cocoa, a bit of roasted coconut, vanilla cream, and mild warming alcohol.
Excellent.

750ml (thx, Jack L.!) on Phill's deck. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: chocolate, vanilla, lactose. Taste: very sweet, along the same lines, nice fruity notes, raisins, good 🍫. Overall: good one.

750mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is wonderfully decadent, with lots of coconut, lots of hazelnut (even though there are none), bourbon, and a little vanilla. Flavour is intensely sweet, with lots of coconut, vanilla, cocoa, and bourbon. Really chocolatey, with a really thick, decadent mouthfeel, finishing on bourbon, vanilla and coconut. Very tasty.

Jet black with a small brown head. Sweet sticky dark chocolate with some cinnamon. Light nutty and some cinnamon with chocolate. Nice and complex.

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours opaque yellow with a small white head and no lace. Aroma and flavours led by bright zesty grapefruit and tangerine, passionfruit and underripe pineapple, quite some amount of dank weed and soft pine in support, something almost like cherry cough syrup in the finish which is unusual but not altogether bad, malt is clean and crisp with soft esters and low to moderate sweetness, finishing dry with moderate peppery spicy bitterness and a little freshie hop burn that could be toned down. Light to medium bodied, a bit slick, with moderate plus carbonation. I like the hop profile of this overall but the hop burn bitterness at the finish needs to fade down; I'll revisit a can with a bit of time and see if age helps.

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours quite hazy bright gold with a decent white head but no lace. Aroma of candied dank weedy mangoes, bright aromatic citrus, touches of peach/pineapple sweetness with grapefruity bitters, some green leafy weed and a touch of onion spice. Flavour is quite dry overall with light wheat-type malt quality, green fragrant dank mangoes, grapefruit, guava, lots of bright citrus peels, moderate weed, light green onion vibes but no hop burn thankfully, finishes bone dry and lightly bitter with grapefruit bitters and more mango and weed into the aftertaste. Light to medium slick body, average carbonation. Excellent refreshing juice, I like IPAs with a 'green' vibe but no burn when they're like this.
