(Draught at Oudaen Bierbrouwerij, Utrecht, 25 July 2013) Golden colour with brief, white head. Malty nose with notes of bread, grass and hints of citrus. Malty taste with white bread, hay and hints of grass in a finish with a gentle bitterness. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Middle-of-the-roadish pale lager. Drinkable but hardly exciting.

Tap @ Oudaen. Brown color, medium brown head. Aroma of belgian spicy yeast, soft chocolat, hint of roast, caramel. Medium sweet taste, bit dry. Balance between the malts is pretty good actually and the spicy yeast notes are not too prominent. Also in flavor, it is an easy drinker and that’s exactly what the abbey styles were supposed to be. Although not my favorite style, this is a great example of it and I am quite surprised by the quality of this small Utrecht based brewery.
