Description
ere you will find multi award winning beers being produced in our specially converted barn set in a quiet wooded valley in West Sussex.

We particularly enjoy brewing old style beers such as porters, stouts and milds. We also produce an extensive range of pale beers and never miss an opportunity to create something new.

Our brewery is set in a beautiful rural location with a quirky little taproom and peaceful outdoor spaces.

Cask gravity at Wallington 2014. It pours near black with a thick beige head. The nose rich roast, earth, big coffee, soy sauce, bovril and light cocoa. The taste is smooth, bitter, coffee, earth, roast, cocoa, light umami and mild acidity with a dry , roasty finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Great condition. Soy sauce nose is a bit offputing. Decent enough though.

Cask gravity at Wallington BF 2014. It pours clear red-amber with minimal head. The nose intense sweet tangerine, mandarins, orange, oily and floral/potpourri. The taste is bitter, earth, mandarin peel, orange oil, resin, some astringency, cake, floral, pepper, waxy and wood with a drying finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Intense oily orange action. Interesting and punchy.

Sampled @ GBBF. Very dark brown color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, roasted malts, lightly fruity, a bit sweet-bitter, a touch of red fruits and twigs as well as some caramel. Not very well mixed together. Don’t like it.

Cask gravity at the 2014 GBBF. Opaque dark caramel coloured pour with a lasting greyish head. Aroma is burnt wood, campfire, some berry fruit. Flavour is berry, black forest fruits, earthy roast. Nutty malts and hedgerow berry’s linger. Palate is medium light and smooth. Very sessionable.

Cask at George, Croydon. It pours clear golden-amber with a small white head. The nose is rather spicy indeed, hay, earth, resin and biscuit. The taste is bitter, spicy, muffin, resin, wood, varnish and leather with a dry, spicy finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Spice dominates this thing. Not very drinkable....

Cask at George, Croydon. It pours hazy amber with a small white head. The nose earthy, grainy, toast and floral notes. The taste is crisp, floral, hay, earth, potpourri, toast and light citrus with a dry finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. Nice floral mild action.

Gravity dispense at the 15th Kingston BF, 16/05/14. Light black with a moderate tan swirl. Nose is dark malts, dark berry fruit, light spice, hint of cocoa. Taste comprises earthy cocoa powder, toffee, hedgerow, light roast malt tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok porter.
