Gravity cask at Pig’s Ear Beer Festival, Hackney on 4th December 2019. Impenetrably black with almost no foam or lace. Aroma of mince pies, plum, Christmas pudding. Roasty malts and rich spiced plum in-mouth, with a solid roast coffee, raspberry and plum finish. Full bodied with an engaging texture. Exquisite.

Gravicask third, at the Groombridge train station, Spa Valley 9th Beer & Cider Festival. Shared with Finn. Almost black in the glass with a deep ruby shade. Filmy layer, faint lacing. Inviting aromas of dark berries and chocolate. Fine balanced taste character of cherry and mid-sweet chocolate malts. Smooth malt-berry finish. Likable. (Tunbridge Wells 18.10.2019).

20/3/2019. Cask at the Anchor Tap, Horsham. Pours mid to dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, black cherry, sweet malt, toffee and dark fruit. Quite heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Good but the sweetness started to make it heavy going after a while.
