Description
ere you will find multi award winning beers being produced in our specially converted barn set in a quiet wooded valley in West Sussex.

We particularly enjoy brewing old style beers such as porters, stouts and milds. We also produce an extensive range of pale beers and never miss an opportunity to create something new.

Our brewery is set in a beautiful rural location with a quirky little taproom and peaceful outdoor spaces.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2017. It pours cloudy orange with a medium bubbly white head. The aroma is rich, oily, rather sweet, orange muffin, fruit cake, brioche, marmalade, berry, festive spice, earth and stollen. The taste is bitter – sweet, oily, chewy, candied orange, tangerine, peach, orange muffin, Irn Bru, Orangina, figgy pudding, touch of sherbet, brioche and booze. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and oily mouth - feel. Pretty fruity stuff. Decent.

Cask at The 34th Pig’s Ear & Cider Festival, Hackney, London. A hazy golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweet, malty, fruity aroma. Tastes sweet, fruity, malty, unbalanced and pretty rough. Not good.

Cask at Pig's Ear '17,day one, 05/12/17. Light haze on a golden amber pour with a well appointed egg shell white head. Nose is raw fruits, biscuit, burnt toffee, light spice, dried fruits. Taste comprises candied orange peel, caramel, stewed fruits, light spice, bready notes. Medium plus body, cloying and sticky on the palate, warming alcohol in the close. Boosty, raw and rough around the edges.

Cask at Pig's Ear '17,day one, 05/12/17. Hazed orange with a decent off white head. Nose is stewed fruits, caramel, booze fumes, bread pudding. Taste comprises candied fruits, sticky and chewy fruits, figs, caramel, dried fruits, melting sugar. Full bodied, moderate carbonation a touch cloying, boosty rise in the close. Ok sipper if a bit hot and raw and ultimately lacking depth of flavor given the ABV.

Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, moderate hoppy, lemon, soapy. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet with a average to long duration, citrus, citric, pale malt, soapy. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20171208]

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, raspberry, tart raspberry, sweet raspberry. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, artificial raspberry, dark malt, sweet malt, sweet raspberry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20171207]

Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, cookie - dough - grain, sugary, sweet, bark, woody, resin - tea bitter (tannin).
