Description
The Humblet family was in search of a site to build a new brewery & continue their tradition and long list of beers brewed by their father, Benoit Humblet.
In 2011, they discovered the farm of Bertinchamps, dating back to 1343, situated not far from Gembloux.
Although extremely old and decayed, the farm had stunning character, situated in an environment that equals its prestige. It was time for some rejuvenation and the renovation project began immediately. Almost 2 years of remarkable work and finally in March 2013 the brewing system was installed in the old barns. Ultra modern fermentation tanks of a capacity of 6.000HL, an astonishing contrast of modern technology and the farm dating back more than 7 centuries.

At Modeste BFF 2016. Pours rather clear blonde. OK white head. Smell is very thin ans fruity, almost like a soda. Taste is rather sweet, intense(!) fruityness. Candy, soap. Too much fruitjuice . Sweet. Syrupy aftertaste

Sampled draft @ Modeste 2016. Clear orange, little white bubbles. Nose is oily grapefruit radler, sweet, basic sugar, artificial sweetener & radler. Taste is grapefruit radler, orange peel, sweet ginger is almost absent, sweet, oily, sugar, artificial sweetener. Cheap sugar radler body. Tastes like a pretty decent radler as oppose to a fruit beer.

Nachtrag vom Sommer 2016
Das Bier kommt aus der (lt. Etikett) im Jahre 1343 gegründeten Brasserie à la Ferme, also Bauernhof-Brauerei. Auch wenn es relativ alkoholreich ist, gibt es geschmacklich nicht so viel her wie vergleichbare Biere. Ein typisches Bier à la kann man gern versuchen; muss man aber nicht.
