Bottle. Dark amber, golden foamy head. Nice grassy, resiny, chocolate, light smoky aroma. Roasted and chocolate malt base, lightish body, grassy, citrussy and herbal hop-balance. Nice.

Bottled. Near black with small off-white head. Aroma of roasty malt and metal. Dryish with creamy oat flavour and notes of blood. Light bodied with clean mouthfeel and salty finish.

Red copper brown ale with a thin white head. Pleasant vinous aroma, with notes of prunes, and vanilla toffee. In mouth, butterscotch assails you, buttery character, with fruity esters, I agree with plum, and a medium bodied. Not much to say here, though, found the buttery aspects a bit off-puting.

Reddish brown ale with a thick dissipating off white head. Light caramel malt aroma, with a bit of butterscotch. In mouth, smoked malt predomines, with some sour notes, very light and mild, with nutty notes, rather unchallenging. Merci, JM.

Chestnut-amber; yellowish tinted medium head, irregular. Gorgeous raisin-y and resiny hopsnose, aromatic in a way that is not unlike sauced pipetobacco, or even "pot" smoked. Dried oranges for X-mas decoration. Slightly sourish, even acidic taste, quite lemony, with a hopflavour behind it. Sourishness is more than a taste-figure. The MF is also watery, thinnish and it has hence a streak of (hopped) lemon squash. It’s better than OK overall, but the palate is a letdown. I’m getting more and more the impression that the West-Canadian micros are shy of a good malts’ punch. Beef up the hops a bit, will ya? TXS, Mike.

Black beer with hidden burgundy depths; yellow-brown medium head. Very typical Ersatzcoffee & burnt oats nose, additional charcoal and liquorice aromas, rather sweet. Again charred, ashes-like roasted oats & grains taste. Little real sweetness, finishes in a hoppy & chicory bitterness, ending rather harsh. Mellows again with warming. Bit empty MF, nearly watery texture. Dry-ish. Palate is a bit thin, and charcoal character a wee bit outspoken. Yet not bad.

Cloudy blond. Light wheat and banana aroma. Very light palate. Hardy anything at all in terms of flavour beyond the most cursory bread note. I like Nelson Brewing, but this beer I could do without.

Is quiet sour with toffee and caramel notes, but hardly distinguishable, as one might expect.
