Bottle at the Düsseldorf Gathering. Lightly hazy, yellow body. Off-white head. (Too) strong aroma of coriander, with hints of candy, mint, ... Lightly sweet, lightly bitter flavour. Not very complex and rather flat flavour.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel, slight wooden hints and some barnyard. Flavour is very sweet caramellish malts, with slight hops. Absolutely no connection to whisky, except for the slight wooden hints, that can be from an oak cask or something...

A hazy orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with an acidic lemon note, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of lemon, and a slight acidity. The body is a bit thin.

(Bottle 75 cl) Slightly hazy pale golden with a tall, white head. Fresh, lightly spicy aroma with some coriander. Medium body with notes of yeast and coriander and then - surprisingly for the style - some banana esters. Perfumy - yet very fresh - even with some bitterness in the finish. A huge yeast sediment. A surprisingly nice French wheat. 151206

65cl bottle from Auchan, Calais. Amber colour with lasting beige thick head. Smells like a biere de garde shandy, tastes like a biere de garde shandy, and is mildly fruity. The artificial lemon whilst not being vomit inducing is not nice. The finish has some spice. The worst of this season’s biere de garde noel beers so far. Oh by the way it tastes of shandy. Have I said that already?

This is a horrible beer, whose only saving grace is the cool corked bottle. It smells really, skunky and gets progressively worse as it warms up. The beer itself is barely drinkable as it tastes of mediocre hops and is a little too sweet for my tastes.

Poured a golden amber with bubbly white head, lots of carbonation. Sour smoked malt and grain aroma. Sweet spicy whiskey malt flavor.

(Draught at Clichy Tavern, Paris, 13 Oct) Golden yellow colour with small white head. Malty nose with sweet honey notes and a hint of smoke. Malty taste dominated by honey and sweetness, understated and slightly artificial smokiness. Drinkable but too sweet for me. (But seriously, this is not a Scottish ale)

Pale golden see through with little white head. Sweet & malty aroma and taste. Watery body. Easy bitter bite in aftertaste. Rather sad french lager!

Canned(500ml). -Looks like German Hefeweizen and tastes like Fanta Lemon. Hazy yellow coloured, medium white head, fizzy, citric nose. Watery and sweet lemon flavored with slight spicy alcohol hints. Not so good but refreshing.
