As advertised, this is a multi-faceted hop forward double. It starts with a pungent hoppy nose, fresh and zesty. All the expected hop elements are there -- citrus, tropical fruit, pine and grapefruit. The malt is understated but balancing. A touch of grassiness and a hint of juicy grapes completes a very tasty double IPA.

A very special beer. The nose is intoxicating, featuring dark brown sugar and mid-range hops. The taste profile is dynamic, with rich molasses, biscuity malt, prunes and both ripe tropical fruit and grapefruit in the significant but balanced hops. The body is rich and a touch syrupy.

A very punchy, grassy nose. The core taste profile includes rather dank, grassy hops, rye spiciness and some dark malt with some sweetness. I wasn’t expecting the grassiness but it creates a nice complexity.

Hazy orange body topped with a soft white head. Aroma is soft with grass and some resin and fruity hops. Taste includes complex hops featuring grass, grapefruit, lemon, and some floral elements overlaying some caramel sweetness and an appropriate malt base. Some thickness and sweetness compliment the challenging hops. Aftertaste is well balanced with elements of the hops, malt and sweetness carrying through. Not as bitingly bitter as the double green flash, but a substantial beer, as one should expect at %10 alcohol. A nice challenging sipper.

A brownish black hue with a fine tan head. The nose is very soft, featuring roasted coffee. The taste is balanced and relatively understated for an Imperial Stout. Roasted Coffee leads with some chocolate sweetness and lactic smoothness. A clean finish with a hint of bitterness. A tasty medium viscosity Imperial that is well crafted but is more understated than anticipated.

20 June 2025. “Iets voor den Erwin” @ Dracuna. Cheers to the whole GBV crew! Thanks to Wim P for sharing!
Lots of toasted onion, cheese, biscuit, mandarin peel, grapefruit juice. Bittersweet citrus peel, mango, onion, grass. Grassy & piney hops, bitter grapefruit, dank onion. Oily texture. Lovely, very old-school, I could drink gallons of it.

Can from Systembolaget. Little glue on the nose. Mature west coast IPA does what it should do.
