03 or 04 bottle (not sure). 9% abv version. Pours a deep deep olive/grey-brown with some very dark burgundy-violet tinges on the side and a very large creamy beige colored head. Bottle conditioned. Aroma is wonderfully vinous and fruity; concord grapes, prunes, vanilla, licorice, caramel. Wow. This beer is ultimate vindication of my thoughts that bigger isn’t necessarily better. This one has only a medium to medium full body, no huge bitter hops assault or mountains of thick chewy malt, but what it has is elegance and just pure, great flavor. Being a fan of English barleywines, which this reminds me of is some ways, I can’t help but admire the flavor profile. Plenty of lightly sweet toffee, lots of a winy/pruniness and a tasty but smooth yeast flavor. Plenty of chocolate, moderate bitterness on the finish. Oily, smooth body, soft, gentle, barely perceptible carbonation. Little bit of ethanol on the finish, mixed with some strong fruit phenols. I highly disagree that Imperial Stouts should be left to UK and US brewers. I’d love to see more such as these.

Full bodied blonde beer, with a slightly burn’t fruity aroma and a strongly alcoholic flavour. Overall ok, but not as good as the majority of Belgian ales.

Cherry red hazy beer with a rose or tulip aroma with yeast. Sour cherry and phenolics come out. This could have been an interesting fruit beer if the beer wasnt contaminated.

Off-white, mostly diminishing head. No lace. Perfume and fruits in the aroma. Lightly sweet, moderately bitter initial flavour, moderately bitter finish (long-lasting). Medium bodied. Soft carbonation.

Bottle Black bodied. Lightly brown, rocky head, which is mostly diminishing and has a fair lace. Complex and well balanced aroma of strong malts, liquorce, liquor, hops. Moderately sweet, moderately bitter, flavour of strong malts and coffee. Great complexity and balance. Very, very nice. Some weakness (bit watery), but very ok all in the end.

Orange tinted gold, heavily carbonated to just off-white head, rather dense. Faint spicey, maybe touch coriander, quite a bit of grapefruit and some laurel. Nice nose, ending quite wheaty. Dry, nearly tart, spicey taste; however, once this primary impression done, there’s not much left to write about. General flavour of mouldy oranges or grapefruit. Very little acidity, more wheat. Light to medium bodied, slight "cobwebs" sensation, as some raters would call it. An interesting variation on witbier... ... ... but still a witbier, I’m afraid.

Frothy off-white head, which lasts mostly. There’s virtually no lace. The body is hazy amber and had tiny particles. The aroma is hoppy (pine) and has some alcohol and smoke in it. The initial flavour is moderately bitter and acitic. The (long) finish is all the same. Medium to fully bodied. Soft carbanation. Metallic and lightly alcoholic feel.

Blond color. Very simple Belgian Ale, just a nice spiceness, both in the aroma and taste.

Bottle: Poured a hazy blonde beer with a huge head with above average retention. Aroma is quite hoppy with some notes of yeast and light spices. Taste is very refreshing for a pale ale with some nice floral touch from the hops and a subtle spicy finish. Very good as a refreshing beer but in no way is it a complex beer.
