Description

8,4% on the label! Beer gushes slightly and produces an enormous head. Very dark ruby brown color. Cherry aroma that promises a lot of sourness, but that is not the case. Roasted malt flavor, earthy, some cherry. A slight tartness. Mustard and grapes. A very unusual beer, some odd mix between a kriek and a stout. Complex and likeable.

Pink color, hazy. Strong blackcurrant aroma. Yeasty, blackcurrant flavor, not as strong as the aroma. Rather onedimensional beer.

Vanilla aroma. Some hopbitterness in the flavor. Apple and vanilla. Some alcohol, in spite of its modest ABV. Just a bit of yeast and orange. Good lacing. Not bad, but not very special.

A bit hazy. Pepper and mango aroma with orange, carrots and rosebuds. A herbal hoppy flavor, tart at first, then a pepperiness comes up, followed by (again) a citric tartness. Thin for the fairly high alcohol content. A complex beer, the quality is apparent. Long hoppy finish.

Flowery, sugary aroma. Hoppy, very herbal, bitter witbier. Some citric fruitiness. Chalk, caramel and rubber. Not at all the archetypical witbier, but full of flavor and even fairly complex.

Tap, Café Morshuis Albergen. Blonde and cloudy. Served very cold, but I still can detect a hoparoma, so the beer must be heavily hopped. Hopbitter, flowery flavor with some grapefruit. Long hopbitter aftertaste. Good beer!

Orange color, cloudy. Creamy head, peppery aroma. Strong peppery hoppy flavor. Very long bitter aftertaste. I can still remember the old Saison Voisin from Voisin in Flobecq a bit. The beer is somewhat different but shares the peppery hoppiness. Good beer! 6 3 8 3 13 = 3.3 10 years later. Bottle. Golden color, pours a huge head. malty citric aroma. Hints of white pepper. Sweetish, malty citric flavor. Almost tart. White pepper. Thinnish, but very tasty. Excellent beer.
