Description
Created in 2016 in Biarritz, La Superbe was born from our passion for homebrewing and our love for highly hopped juices. Inspired and attracted from the outset by New School breweries, it was towards IPAs / DIPAs that we quickly specialized.
After experimenting for a long time and stacking 20L brews in our kitchen, we are launching our first 500L brews in our small brewery in the Quartier de la Négresse in Biarritz in 2017. The Biarritz brewery sees the birth of all the first bottles of the permanent range of Brewery.
Quickly cramped, the second brewery was created in Anglet in 2018. Larger and more modern, it quickly allows us to push further experiments and to launch in parallel with the permanent range the very first cans in the summer of 2019 whose ephemeral recipes will be resolutely oriented towards hops and which are today our trademark.

440ml can. Hazy, purple colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, pink head. Fruity and mildly spicy, tangy aroma, pulpy and fruit acidic, minimally earthy notes of raspberry, a touch of black currant and cherry, hints of salt, vanilla, a touch of brown sugar, lactic overtones. Taste is tart, fruity, tangy, hints of raspberry, cherry, a touch of black currant, mismatching hints of cocoa, a lactic and minimally salty touch. Acid thinned, creamy texture, smooth and minimally astringent palate, fine, prickly carbonation. Wonderful aroma, sadly not fully reproduced in taste, additionally (for me) unnecessary cocoa interference - pretty good nevertheless.

440ml can. Hazy, dark orange, golden colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Juicy, tropical fruity, slightly citrusy fruity, hoppy and minimally sugary, wheaty and oaty malty aroma, notes of passion fruit, mango, some overripe tropical fruit, hints of tangerine, orange, a minimally zesty touch; a slightly disguised basic layer with caramel malty aspects and some resinous, piney hop flavours forms a kind of parallelism. Taste is surprisingly bitter, zesty, citrusy and tropical fruity hoppy, sweet-ish and minimally sugary, wheaty and oaty malty, notes of tangerine, orange, orange peel, some mango and passion fruit; piney hoppy and caramel malty interludes, lingering, zesty finish. Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy, simultaneously slightly dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Feels a bit like a Black & Tan with West Coast DIPA and Double NEIPA components - good!

440ml can. Cloudy, orange, dark golden to amber colour with late awakening, average to huge, super dense, creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Surprisingly weak, caramel malty and fruity hoppy aroma with jelly bear touch, hints of pineapple, melon, lychee, overtones of mandarine and candied orange. Taste is sweet, caramel malty and mildly bitter, fruity hoppy, hints of mandarine, candied orange, tremendous malty backbone has notes of marzipan, a touch of grape sugar, bitter orange liqueur. Creamy, viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Immensely malty (Barley Wine-like) and therefore way underhopped, unbalanced, too sweet; special feature: excellent head - not really convincing.

440ml can. Murky, orange, dark golden colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Juicy, tropical fruity, resinous and slightly floral, hoppy aroma, oaty malty background, homogeneous, amalgamated notes of (yellow) tropical fruit, resin with woody, herbal and floral apsects. Taste is juicy, tropical fruity hoppy, sweetish, wheaty and oaty malty basis, notes of mandarine, mango, unspecific (yellow and orange) tropical fruit, some resin with woody and herbal aspects and hoppy bitterness counterbalances the malty sweetness and lends easy- and freshness; well hidden alcohol. Slightly creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation. Very homogeneous, highly drinkable - wonderful!
