Draught at the brewpub
Cloudy blond color; big head. The aroma has both some spices and banana. The body is medium thin, it’s missing some consistent body, even if there is a balanced spicy and fruity (banana) flavor. Dryish, but dynamic. Pleasant.

Draught at the brewpub
Deep blond color; creamy head. It has a nice malt aroma, some cereals. Smooth mouthfeel, with some cereals and malt aroma, light residual sweetness; this one as well lacking of hop and bitterness, otherwise it would be a good Helles.

Draught at the brewpub
Cloudy chestnut color. The aroma is very mild. The flavor too is not exciting, with some mild caramel and nothing else; it has a very low bitterness. Drinkable, refreshing Dunkel, but too simple.

500ml flip-top bottle brought home from Trier. Bottom fermented beer that pours a cloudy, orange body under a dense, white foamy head, reduced to a filmy layer after a short while. Moderate blend aroma of hops and malts. Pale malty taste followed by grain-like sweetness with fruity hops beneath. Dry ending. Fairly well made German Helles (Tromsø, 18.10.2007).

500ml swing-top bottle brought back from Trier in Germany and enjoyed at home in Tromsø on a Saturday eve. Pours a big thick and rocky yellow-brownish head with good retention, blanketing the glass. Slightly hazy, tan body. Quite solid aroma of dark chocolate. Shortage of taste at first, then becoming malty as it warms. Skilful blend of dark and brown roasted malts with hints of raisin and nuts beneath. Dry and dusty aftertaste (13.10.2007).
