Description
Taste the Unexpected is the motto adopted by Sifnios Othonas Theofanous, the brewer and driving force behind Flaros beer. About 10 years ago he started making beer at home as a hobby. In 2015 he received an award in the pan-Hellenic eco-breeding competition and there I realized that all this effort had to be turned into a commercial product. So in 2017 the dream came true with Flaros beer. He always thought that he wanted to give a distinctive name reminiscent of Sifnos, his island

Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks kerenmk. Hazy orange-amber. Fruity hops, a bit soapy, a bit farty, sweetish malt, bitter finish.

Tasty, although already overdue. Really crisp and with a good citric aroma. Nice one! Thanks Nikos!

On tap at The Lazy Bulldog, pours a hazy dark golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, butterscotch and what seems like some diacetyl. Flavour thankfully doesn't reveal any diacetyl, with piney hops, light citrus, some butterscotch and biscuity malt. Nice, fresh hoppy assertiveness to this. Well-made.

On tap at The Lazy Bulldog, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral hops, light biscuity malt and a hint of herbal notes. Flavour is assertive for the style, with piney, floral hops, and crisp biscuity malt. Floral and piney, with a crisp finish. Solid stuff.

Aroma of soft citrus hops. Has a bleach white head 0.5cm tall and a copper-orange liquid. Flavour is decent IPA notes of pineapple and orange but tempered with some malty grains. Okay crispness on the mouth and doesn't linger. A decent IPA of no particular distinction.

From bottle at home. Light hazy dark amber orange color with light beige head. Hoppy and malty aroma, grass, piney, floral spicy, citrusy fruity. Light sweet and moderate to heavy bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

0.33 l bottle brought by Pilot Goran from Greece. Murky golden, minimal off-white head. Lightly to moderately hoppy, citrus, orange. Light body. Lost its bitterness, too old. Don't consider this rating.
