5/11/24. Black, thin head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, raspberry. Taste Fresh, with some oak. Taste is roast, chocolate, cherry, hint of char. High booze and thin for style. Solid.

Junction Road store. Aromas are a nice blend of citrus, stone fruit, tropical fruit, resin, floral and spice. Flavors are similar to nose, bittersweet with citrus and resin standing out. Slightly soft carbonation and medium full body. A bit of alcohol in the finish. Not bad.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Viscous black, no head. Aroma of brownie dough with custard. Super sweet with full body and cloying, syrupy mouthfeel. Aggressive, extreme artificial sweetness that burns in a cloying finish. Undrinkable also in small amounts.

On tap at Hubbard�s Cave, pours black cherry out a small tan head. Aroma is more stout- than sour-forward, with lots of cola, vanilla, and gentle cherry. Flavour is much the same, with lots of sour cherry, cola, bourbon and vanilla. Somehow, this works, but it�s still quite syrupy and intense. Cohesive and complementary in flavours. Quite solid.

On tap at Hubbard�s Cave, pours a cloudy dark pinkish amber with a small pinkish beige head. Aroma has tons of blueberry upfront, along with oak and fermented out honey. Flavour is complex, with tons of blueberry, mostly fermented out honey, intense acidity, and plenty of oak. Yeah, there�s almost overbearing acidity here but get past that and you�ll see the complexity. Impressive.

On tap at Hubbard�s Cave, pours a cloudy dark, murky red with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty of tart strawberry, some earth rhubarb, and oak barrels. Flavour is complex and integrated, with lots of woody oak, intense acidity, sour strawberries and earthy rhubarb. Yeah, that�s too acidic but there�s doubtless complexity to this. Damn, very good even if a bit harsh.

On tap at Hubbard�s Cave, pours black with a sma tan bead. Aroma has a melange of toasted nut, medium roast, and some oiliness. Flavour has plenty of miscellaneous toasted nuts, butter oiliness, and medium roast. Nice nuttiness but it�s pretty bitter and harsh. Solid enough but not an elite nutted stout.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is chocolate, biscuity and some vanilla and mild roasted tones. Flavour is chocolate, some rubbery and mild vanilla tones with alcohol and some crispy biscuity tones. The rubbery tones makes it a bit chewy, but still it's rather nice.
