Bottle, 0.50l, 4 years old. Aroma is yeasty, musty, vinous, grainy and citrusy. Pours hazy pale golden color with thick creamy white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts light sweet and sour bready and citrusy, following is zesty, vinous, herbal and toasted malty, mouthfeel is crisp and dry, while finish is medium bitter. Medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Funky house...

Can (canned 6/17/18, peak by 6/17/19--hey, a little extra aging never hurt anyone, right?) pour from Fort Point Market, Boston. Appearance is opaque, inky black with nice viscosity but no sparkle, a few large white floaties, finger-width fizzy light brown head with nice crackle and poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong earthy roasted barley malt (like partially burnt leaves), dark chocolate, whiff of anise. Taste follows aroma. Mouthfeel is medium-to-full bodied with smooth, thick texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, real nice body and aroma and taste are strong with some variety, though not terribly complex. Enjoyable.
