(Bottle) Hazy golden colour with lasting white head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty nose with bread, cereal, hay, grass, vanilla and buttery malt. Malty, slightly fruity taste with bread, peaches, hay, grass, hints of butter and vanilla and a gentle grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well balanced and tasty. Quite nice.

[ As Müllerbräu Altbayrisch Dunkel ].Clear medium to dark brown color with a large to huge, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread - dark bread, caramel, nutty, dark malt, light roasted, light hoppy, grass. Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, golden in color and with a dense, finger-thick white head. The aroma is grassy and lightly malty, with some maize and flowery notes. The flavor is pretty much the same, rather grainy, with a very soft bitterness. Piney and grassy. Medium body, quite dry. Lasting bitter, resiny and grassy finish, all quite weak. A tad sweet this one, but quite nice anyway. 150418

Bottle, from Liebick Getranke, split on the train to Ulm 07/02/15. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a light tan swirl and edgeing. Nose is cocoa powder, vanilla, light charr, earthy, cardboard. Taste is a little thin, baking powder, toffee, light roast, raisens, hint of fruit cake. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. So so, lacks depth.
