Description
Already in 1630 a brewhouse was founded on the main square in Pfaffenhofen. The oldest Pfaffenhofen miller (ancestor of the brewing family) is mentioned in official documnts from 1776 and 1779.

Through constant expansion and quality-oriented production, the former brewhouse and later house brewery became a growing and respected brewery over the generations, which has had a significant influence on the cityscape of Pfaffenhofen since then.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, mahogany colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Rather discreet aroma of toasted malt with caramel and a whiff of dark chocolate. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Dark and moderately toasted malt-character with notes of caramel, molasses and traces of chocolate; sweet and mildly toasted malty finish with primary notes of molasses. Likeable but not a great Doppelbock. 29.V.12

(bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Moderately toasted malty aroma with notes of caramel, milk chocolate and a tinge of herbal hops in the background. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Toast-malty caramely base, again with shy hints of chocolate and herbal accents; rather slim and mildly toasted malty finish with faint notes of hops far in the background. Not particularly outstanding. 25.IV.12

Bottle. It’s an unclear, golden-orange beer with a nice, off-white head leaving lacings. The aroma has lots of bubble gum and banana, some lemony notes. A touch of spices too. It’s too flat on the palate, medium bodied, and with banana, bubble gum and some lemon flavors. A little bitterness too. Bitterness and spices blends in the with the bubble gum in the finish. A decent weissbier, nothing more. 110819
