Description
Already in 1630 a brewhouse was founded on the main square in Pfaffenhofen. The oldest Pfaffenhofen miller (ancestor of the brewing family) is mentioned in official documnts from 1776 and 1779.

Through constant expansion and quality-oriented production, the former brewhouse and later house brewery became a growing and respected brewery over the generations, which has had a significant influence on the cityscape of Pfaffenhofen since then.

Bottle (Dank an den Bodensee!) A bit unclear, visible carbonation, slowly collapsing off-white fluffy head; grainy strawy nose with a hoppy touch; light to moderate sweetish flavour, very light bodied; gets drier towards the sweet-bitter end. O.K. Helles............ --- Beer merged from original tick of Hell on 08 Dec 2022 at 19:45 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 5.5. Original review text: Flascherl: Golden, clear, medium-sized and slowly diminishing creamy white head, mild sweetish fruity-grainy nose with even milder hayish hops underneath; mild - again - bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied, at least soft; shorter sweetish-bitter grainy-hayish finish. Nothing wrong with it, just a liquid sleeping-pill...

(bottle) Slightly unclear, pale golden colour with a blond foamy white head of medium size. Fresh strawy malty nose with a grainy and shy hoppy touch. Slightly sweet flavour, slim bodied with a moderate carbonation. Strawy malty and shy grainy taste with notes of sour dough; moderately dry and slightly sourish finish. Smells good, the rest is rather bland (16.V.09).

Weicher Hefeantrunk, etwas bitter. Test vom 22.4.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,7,5,5,5,5 - 5,80

Malziger Antrunk, etwas wässrig, lasch. Im Mittelteil würziger und alkoholischer, unausgewogen. Leicht röstmalziger Nachgeschmack, weiter lasch und rauh. Zuletzt süß-malzig. Danke an Leverkusener. Test vom 21.8.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,7,7,6,7,6 - 6,75

(bottle) Slightly hazy, golden colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Sweet malty aroma with honey and herbal, slightly woody hops. Sweet flavour, medium bodied, crispy mouthfeel. Malt-accented taste with a rather strong but not unpleasant honey sweetness; sweet and slightly bitter finish. Not a great, but pleasant to drink Festbier.
