I was looking forward to this, a dark Bock with winter plum! The 20% juice (including cherry) really throws this off. Super sweet. Couldn't drink half of it.

Bottle from Lidl. Pours a clear light golden colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of grains, hay and grass. Taste has more grains and hay with some peppery spice and a slightly grassy and also metallic finish. Thinnish body, average carbonation and slightly oily mouthfeel. Below average Pilsner. Not great but drinkable.

It's fair to say this is not the greatest lager that Germany has created! Another one that looks the part, clear and golden with nice carbonation apparent, and a fluffy white head, and on the nose there's hints of grain/malt and hops. Tastewise it's grassy and a little bitter, but there is a slight industrial solvent edge to it

500ml can. Pours dark red brown with a tall beige head. Aroma is cherries, malt, faintly almondy. Taste is medium sweet, sour cherries, malt. Light bitter finish. Cheap and drinkable beer cocktail.

500ml can. Pours clear gold with a medium-sized white head. Aroma is caramel, cardboard, cooked vegetables, some citrus. Taste is light sweet, caramel, cooked vegetables. Aspirin bitter finish. Absolute rubbish. Couldn’t manage more than a few sips.

500ml can. Pours opaque orange with a tall off-white head. Aroma is phenolic bananas, cloves, malt, faintly boozey. Taste is medium sweet, banana, wheat, spices, bread, alcohol in the background. Light bitter finish. Medium bodied. Until now I didn’t think budget weizenbocks existed… this cost less than €1, 70 roubles to be precise. Overall, for the price it’s good, but there’s something about it… it tastes cheapish and a little rough round the edges. To sum it up, I’d rather pay more for something like Schneider Aventinus or Weihenstephaner Vitus.
