Description
Die Hasen-Bräu ist eine der ältesten Brauereien Augsburgs. Ihre Wurzeln reichen zurück bis ins Jahr 1464. Augsburger Bier durfte nur aus Wasser, Malz und Hopfen hergestellt werden, so verlangte es das Stadtrecht von Augsburg bereits 1156 - also 360 Jahre vor dem Erlass des bayerischen Reinheitsgebots. Gebraut und sogleich ausgeschenkt wurde seinerzeit in kleinen Hausbrauereien auch die Hasen-Bräu geht auf eine solche Hausbrauerei zurück: die Schänke "Zu den drey Glass". Matthias Rösch kaufte 1815 die mittlerweile unter dem Namen ''Zum Hasen“ bekannte Braustätte. In 1899 wurde eine neue Braustätte mit maschineller Produktion auf dem Gelände des ehemaligen Kapuzinerklosters an der Maximilianstraße in betrieb genommen.

In 1996 wurde die Inselkammer-Gruppe Hauptaktionär der brauerei. Ab 2003 erwarb Inselkammer den übrigen Aktienanteil und integrierte Hasen-Bräu zusammen mit Tucher Bräu in die Brau und Brunnen AG. Die Oetker-Gruppe kaufte 2004 die Brau und Brunnen AG und gliederte Hasen-Bräu in die konzerneigene Radeberger Gruppe ein.

Hazy yellow with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with banana, cake and wheat. Flavor had wheat, banana and lemons.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of wheat. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wheat, and a bit of banana, leading to a dry wheaty finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is dry estery and banana fruity. Sweet banana fruity and mild estery. Medium dry and bitter into a dry lasting finish.

Cloudy yellow coloured, big white head, yeasty lemony nose. Light yeasty, wheaty and slight fruity with notes of lemon and banana.Rather watery weizen.

50cl Bottle at PINT Meibockfestival. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of light sulphury hops, grainy malts. Flavour is malty, light bready, grain, light fruity, grassy hoppy finish. Light to medium bodied. Not great.

Bottle. Sweet-sour barley malt aroma. Medium yellow color with moderate head. Sweet corn/barley flavor. Tastes like an above average pale lager.

Bottle. Sweet banana, clove, and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy yellow amber color with giant fluffy head. Lightly sweet banana and bitter clove flavor. Medium body. Smells great but flavor is a bit light.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A clear, yellowish golden beer topped by a small, white head. Weak lemony nose feeling rather artificial. Citrusy flavor, rather artificial that too. Hints of beer in the finish. Dry and thin on the palate. Not very good, but sort of drinkable in small amounts. 090823
