Crisp and impeccably clear amber and copper colourede body with a very small, single centimetre thin, just off-white head noticeable. Aroma of light herbal and grassy hop notes with some more pungent malt scents and a dash of alcohol and nuttiness on the finish. Light-bodied; Strong nutty and herbal hop notes dominate with more of an English or European flavour than a traditional American IPA with some pungent and bitter hop flavours and a dash of more assertive biscuity malts with a strong yeast and caramelised sugar backbone which almost feels more of an EPA than an IPA. Aftertaste shows a lot of bready notes with a dash of light spice and more of a pungent herbal and floral bite from the hops, but definitely showing the yeast flavours and deeper malt/alcohol flavours that would be typical for the style. Overall, an about average IPA that shows more of an English or European bite than anything even from the East Coast (notably where the brewery is) than any other style of an IPA. Nice to try, but not worth trying to find. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 19-April-2019 for US$2,37 sampled at home in Washington after finishing the USMC 2019 Marathon a few blocks from my house here in Washington on 27-October-2019.

Rich deep copper and bronze coloured body with a dense, thick, three to four centimetre tall rich tan head. Aroma of pungent alcohol, apricots, grass, pine and deep malt, all with a light citrus hop bitterness and more alcohol astringency in the nose. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep robust, rich flavours at first, with tons of malt coming through at first with a lot of alcohol soon afterwards, some pungent apricot and fruit-based notes with a deep bitter finish from the piney and more grassy hops. Aftertaste shows a proper balance of bunches of malt, with a deeper, more aggressive hop and alcohol presence that shows a lot of bitterness, but more astringent flavours and also a lot of sweetness from honey, caster sugar and apricots at the very end. Overall, a deep and pungent beer that shows some decent flavours that are a tad too aggressive and not polished enough. Nice to try, but probably not recommended due to such high competition in the style. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 19-April-2019 for US$3,99 sampled at home in Washington on 26-September-2019.

Draft pour pint at The Wheelhouse, St. Pete. Golden orange pour, tons of sticky foam head and lacing. Distinct grapefruit going on with this IPA. Its bitter, and also a bit sweet. Bitter grapefruit peel late linger. Strong malty backbone. Interesting and quite enjoyable.

On tap at the Waldorf Astoria, Orlando. Labeled 'Born & Raised Amber Ale'. The same abv as the Tag & Release. I couldn't find any information on this beer, so I think it's the same beer. Pours clear dark golden with a medium sized off-white head, good lacing. Malty, citrus, toffee and herbal. Ok, but I didn't care for it.
