A good saison by these. Finishes with light citra hops and some stronger lemon presence. A little watery in texture. Finishes with light sourness. On tap at DC Summerfest.

Cloudy yellow pour and what tastes like Belgian yeast here with some floral aromas. Floral, sweet finish. Tap at Glen’s. Thanks to Travlr for a taste of this.

4oz pour at the brewery. Pours a hazy bright yellow, ring of white head. Looks like pineapple juice. Nose had a ton of juice, pineapple mostly, some starfruit, a little bit of starchy water, some lemon lime soda. Flavors of lime soda, some mild malt, pineapple, some Asian pear, mild yeast. Clean finish, zero bite.

4oz pour at Jack Rose DC. Pours an inky black with some thin, beige head. Nose is neat, some mild smoke, some booze, vanilla, cherry, brown sugar, malt, molasses, a little cakey. All in all, fairly mild nose. Flavor is boozy, pencil lead, molasses, charred wood, caramel, coffee bean, a little reduced cola, almost like a sweet BBQ sauce that got baked for a bit too long, bread crust. Fairly smooth finish. Kind of cool, one of the better barrel treatments they do.

2oz sample at PPD. Pours a hazy gold with some sudsy, white head. Nose is much like the base beer, tangerine, soap, mild herb, a little tea, a little chamomile. Flavor is nice and has more of the flower petal, sweet, malty, honey, grass, chamomile, rose water, some mild Tums. Medium bodied, lightly chalky finish. Really nice cask treatment.

Draft at Jack Rose - thanks Travlr! This one poured a dark ruby red color with a wispy white head - started to get dark up at the bar, so it was hard to really see well, so from this point on most of the beers I drank looked the same. Aroma was sweet grains with some candi notes, lots of malt, some barrel and wood in there. Flavor was sweet, boozy. Alcohol burn. Okay, but I liked the original more.

Draft at Jack Rose. This one poured a cloudy golden orange color with a small white head. Aroma was tropical notes of mango, with some light pine character. Sweet malts balance this one out a bit. Nice juicy hops - Galaxy for the win here. A lot more sessionable compared to their usual faire, this was good.

Draft at Jack Rose. Poured a dark brown color with a nice slightly off-white head to it. Aroma was sweet malts, some dark chocolate and plenty of boozy, alcohol barrel notes to it. Flavor is dominated by barrel, which creates a very smooth, enjoyable beer. Base notes of the Southern Belle are a bit muted here, with less nutty and coffee notes coming through. Warming finish.

4oz pour at Jack Rose DC. Pours a muddy burnt amber with a ring of cream colored head. Nose is heavy booze, tons of raisin and dried cherry, vanilla, caramel, wood pulp, cake icing, candle wax. Flavor is worse, malt, honey comb, a little vodka, some tea, brown sugar. Like drinking a bad Caipirinha. Hot finish. Too much everything.
