Pale with slight haze, no head. Tart, some acetic, sweetish balsamic, woody character. Like unblended lambic.

On tap at rlrl. Default 6oz pour for $9. Tall stemware, thin head. Opaque, plum-colored pour. Sour cherry & milky caramel nose. Sour cherry, sour melon, a little caramel & oxidation, lots of sweet vinegar, basic cereal, sidra, a bit of glue. Lightly frothy. Quite sharp but more sugar than expected. Complex but at the extreme expense of drinkability. Battery acid. Difficult to finish.

Hazy and medium gold colour. Loose head. Sweet aroma, a bit gloppy, light honey. The palate has a lot of honey, floral, and it’s quite sweet. That somewhat masks a bit of yeastiness. It’s not a bad beer, though maybe not the most stellar tripel.

16oz (thx, Ryan!) @ Matt's house. Appearance: very dark brown with a weak brown head. Aroma: American oak, charred barrel, some chocolate. Taste: along the same lines, lots of American oak, moderately sweet, some grassy notes. Overall: good one.

Dark brown with no head. Dark brown, big toasty malt and toffee sugars. On the palate, it's not as rich as the aroma suggests. Moderate richness I guess. There's a toasty barrel character with lighter chocolate and nutty notes. This is pretty good.

473mL can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma reveals a nice bourbon barrel character, with light smoky whiskey, molasses, and dark sugars. Flavour is rich, with lots of bourbon barrels, some smokiness, molasses, and dark sugars. Fairly complex, with good use of the barrels. Very good.

Poured from 473mL can (thanks Travis; 2023 version). Near black with minimal light beige head. Bourbon barrel, feint roast, simple, aroma is better than the taste. Overall, prefer Tumba Tumba with the coffee addition, but still decent Mexican imperial stout.
