(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy amber golden with a small, creamy head. Aroma of malt and alcohol. Quite sweetish, lightly fruity with marked alcohol. Potent stuff. 170905

Bottle. Sour, slightly skunky aroma. Orange yellow color with small quickly collapsing head. Sour malt flavor- moderate carbonation, little hops. Not offensive but nothing special.

[My bottle read Gubernija Baltiskoe Krepkoe at 8.2% ABV, so I believe it is the same beer] An orange beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma is sweet and dominated by straw, but also with hints of alcohol. The flavor is sweet and totally dominated by alcohol. Definately a European Strong Lager - and not at its best.

Bottled (BB 05/2005)
Golden color, not much head. Light fruity and malty aroma. Malty, fruity sweet flavor. Well-balanced with fruity aftertaste. Ok but not earthshaking brew.

Pours a kind of murky light yellow. Head is very soapy looking. Not much aroma but you do get some skunk that you would expect. Flavor is light but not offensive. Slight malts and hops rescue this one. Again its not offensive but nothing really great either.

Thanks to Darkover for the trade. From Lithuania + green bottle sounds like a recipe for disaster but this wasn’t too bad. Pours a rather cloudy yellow color with a very thick white head that lasted pretty much the entire glass. Thin foamy lacing. The aroma is mildly skunked, with a light hops presence. Light-bodied and bland overall. There is some citrusy hops present but it tastes watered down overall. There is an underlying sweetness as well which is decent. The finish is dry with soft bitterness. This beer doesn’t have much to offer but overall it isn’t terrible.

Golden-brown colour. Aroma of golden sugar, cinnamon toast. Mild-tasting, with some spiciness and late alcohol. Finish is fizzy, sweet, and slightly minerally.

Golden colour. Noble hop aroma with some cookie dough malts. Crisp, medium-light body. Hay-like hop notes. Quickish finish. Malt backbone noted - another "almost pilsner".

Fiery reddish-brown colour. No head. Rich toffeeish aroma. Very sweet flavour - chewy toffeeish malts. They carry enough crystal malt earthiness and are extracted well enough to provide balance. Sweet, slightly smokey finish.
