Pour is a yellow with almost no head. This is almost completely flat. Aroma is grains and corn syrup. Flavor is very grainy and bitter. Its a eastern Euro brew in a green bottle, they are all starting to taste the same. No skunk at least.

I’m sure this was a fine beer before put in a green bottle. Skunky aroma. Some wheat and citrus in the flavor, but quality here is severely diminished as well. Clearly a light struck bottle, and the brewery pays the price in the score because they should know better. But at least it only cost $1 at Trader Joe’s in St. Louis Park, MN.

A light golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma contains notes of straw and a sourness from brewing cereal. The flavor is sweet with notes of grain and brewing cereal, the latter giving it a sourness, that lingers all the way to a lightly bitter straw end.

500 ml bottle from Trader Joe’s, as "Ekstra." Well, I just sold off my old car on eBay, and what do I celebrate with? A cheap Baltic wheat beer. Guess I’m too close to 800 to spare the Demolition I got in the same purchase. I’m not sure what my problem is, but when I open this bottle, I FINALLY KNOW WHAT SKUNK IS I’ve talked about it before, but that was just oxidation or stale hops. This was Honest-to-Ninkasi skunk. After that, it settled down a little bit. Pours a strange cloudy color in the glass under an authentic hefe head, at least. I still get whiffs of skunk, but close up, just a sort of weak weizen impression. Ropy stuff in the bottom of the bottle. Taste has lots of fusels, Granny Smith apple and Lemon Pledge. Maybe I’m still not at my best in this style in the first place, maybe this green bottle sat on a warm shelf too long, but I just did not like this.

(Can 50 cl) Golden beer with a very small, white head that collpses completely. Lightly fruity nose. Light-bodied, quite malty with a short, dry bitterness and again some fruity notes in the flavour. Doesn’t appear overly aleish, but easy to drink and quite pleasant. 300905

(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy amber golden with a small, creamy head. Aroma of malt and alcohol. Quite sweetish, lightly fruity with marked alcohol. Potent stuff. 170905

Bottle. Sour, slightly skunky aroma. Orange yellow color with small quickly collapsing head. Sour malt flavor- moderate carbonation, little hops. Not offensive but nothing special.

[My bottle read Gubernija Baltiskoe Krepkoe at 8.2% ABV, so I believe it is the same beer] An orange beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma is sweet and dominated by straw, but also with hints of alcohol. The flavor is sweet and totally dominated by alcohol. Definately a European Strong Lager - and not at its best.

Bottled (BB 05/2005)
Golden color, not much head. Light fruity and malty aroma. Malty, fruity sweet flavor. Well-balanced with fruity aftertaste. Ok but not earthshaking brew.
