bottle from Strand Wine Company Deal. Golden, white head. Malty, grainy hints, shy earthy-resiny hops and a shy touch of caramel.

Handpull cask at the Alexandra Arms, Cambridge. Chestnut/amber. Clear with a small uniform film of sandy beige head. Woody oak smell with slight hints of cranberry. Pleasant sweet taste with an ensuing resinous bitterness. Clean dry finish. Some strawberry and malt vinegar notes in the aftertaste. Full slick body. Improves as I drink, but still fairly unexciting.

Cask, half at The Scottish Stores, Kings Cross. A clear dark golden body. Naked on the surface and minimal lacing. Modest impact of leafy hops on the nose. Grassy hops, herbs and mild malty sweetness to the taste buds. Restrained bitter endnotes. Clean in the mouth. Accepted (London 10.04.2016).

Cask at the Burlington Arms - Mayfair, London. Pours clear copper-gold with stick, lasting off-white cream head. The nose has orange citrus, pale grains, bread, hints of leaves. Light sweet flavor with a simple, creamy and lightly toasted malt base, more citrusy hops, a little twig and tangerine. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Nicely balanced on the finish with more pale bready malt character, Enlish yeast, twig, citrus, very slight toffee. Leafy bitterness in the aftertaste. A nice, easy-drinking golden bitter.

4.2% Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 2015. Clear mid brown beer. Lasting beige head. It’s a regular brown bitter. Ok if completely standard and not very interesting. Some biscuit.
