Black color, small beige head. Intense aroma of coffee, perfumy, like a bag of coffee beans. The body is a bit weaker than expected, and sweeter than another Imperial Porter I just had, without much malt depth, but with decent coffee flavor.
Nice, uncomplicated.

Bottle bought in BC Liquor Store on Commercial & Grant. Aroma is sweet cold coffee with milk. Taste is sweet cold coffee with milk and roasted malt bitterness. Not enough body and not the richness of taste as for imperial porter. Pleasant, but not excellent.

Tasting at Matt’s
Brown color, headless. Caramel aroma, strong butter, butterscotch. Middle body, caramel, more butter, cookies, moderate sourness.
Total mess, quite bad.

650mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out wood varnish, yeast, and weird souring bacteria. Flavour is quite harsh, with loads of wood varnish upfront, sour bacteria and Belgian yeast. Quite offensive, with a dry, tart, vinous finish. Nasty stuff.

Some light roast and a hint of citrus peel. Caramel. Pours syrupy black without much head or lacing. Kind of a mess, but not so spectacularly as their other barrel aged sours. Tap at brewpub.

Good balance and good for style. Spinnakers seems to do best in thin this low alcohol dark beer niche. Some roast and some nut. Black pour with good head. Light bitter finish. Tap at brewpub.

Some light hay and some citrus. Barreling is better tempered here. Golden pour with good head and lacing. Light tangy finish. Light and a little drab but well balanced at least. Some pepper. Tap at brewpub.

Seems like far more oyster than gose. Pours black with ok head and lacing. Some light salt. Smells a little funky - if an oyster shucker put his nose in this I’m not sure he’d sell the thing. Light tangy finish. Tap at brewpub.
