Description
We are passionate about making beer with no compromise, brewing small batches with big personality. Using locally sourced grains, the best hops and water from our own well, our beers are handcrafted with care in our Brewhouse in Clonakilty by head brewer ‘Thirsty’ Frank Fredriksen and his team.

Clonakilty is at the centre of such a positive mix of beautiful scenery, amazing food, interesting characters, quirky local stories and strong town spirit. We consider ourselves hugely lucky to be able to make our beer here and become part of the tapestry of this place. It also pushes us to brew beer that stands with the best and make the town proud of what we do.

500ml bottle at home. Pours a cola black brown with a very small off white to tan head that dissipates quickly. Nose is meek sweet malt, vinegar, some milk chocolate notes, vegetal or mild floral hops. Flavour is also meek chocolate notes, some bland caramel. Not a drain pour but nothing exciting here

From the bottle purchased at a supermarket in Galway. Dark brown to black with a foamy tan head. Mild coffee and sour cherry in the aroma. Taste loaded with sour vinegar notes, overwhelming all else—infected. A pity but I cannot imagine it was intended to taste like this. Did not finish. Drainpour.

Bottle from Hanlon’s, Longford [120317]
Amber, soft haze, frothy white head, light lacing
Aroma of sweet fruits, dab of apricot, orange, slight straw, bit grassy, dab of sweet caramel, soft fruits
Taste is fairly malty, soft fruity caramel, soft grassy hops, soft caramelized orange malts, more citrus zest as it warms up
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, fairly rich texture, sweet malt base, soft bitter zest hops. Finish has soft grassy and citrus hops
Overall - Over malty for a US pale ale - but some decent flavour in there.
