16 ounce can. Number one with a bullet. Hazy orange gold color. Dense, pillowy white head is slow to dissipate, leave outstanding lacing. Fragrant tropical fruit aroma hints at mango, melon and stone fruit. Pleasant sweet flavor leans toward fresh melon, tangerine, pineapple and peach. Subtle spicy hops in middle. Soft, silky palate. Some sticky citrus on backend. Tasty.

16 ounce can. Number one with a bullet. Hazy amber brown pour. Rocky beige head. Earthy roasted malt aroma hints at toffee and dark dried fruits. Flavor is sweet, toasted malt, dark brewed tea, blood orange peels and brown sugar. Lacks the peaty, smokiness associated with the breweries in Scotland, but quite tasty, nonetheless.

16 ounce can. Amber orange pour. Frothy beige head. Earthy, toasted malt aroma hints at vanilla, turmeric and ginger. Unusual combination of flavors. Coconut, raw peanuts, ginger, cocoa and vanilla. Scant notes of maple syrup and turmeric. Some warmth from the 8% ABV. Finishes dry with notes of green peppercorns. Certainly unique.

12 oz. can from Total Wine, Union, NJ. Pours a clear gold color with a white head and good retention. Spotty lacing. Sweet pale malt aroma. Sweet pale malt flavor too with some honey and vanilla in the finish. Not as grainy as most cream ales. Crisp mouthfeel. Smooth and clean. Medium-light body. Not bitter. I like it, but I also think it might get old fast.

16 ounce can. Number one with a bullet. Translucent cocoa brown color. Small creamy beige head. Mild toasted malt aroma has a hint of mocha. Dryish roasted malt flavor upfront. A hint of chocolate on the palate. Soft, creamy mouthfeel. Perhaps a hint of dry cocoa powder and cardamom as well. Light to medium bodied. Very drinkable and quite enjoyable as dark lagers go.

Flavor is toasted malt, spicy, piney hops with stone fruit and berry notes. Quite complex with a depth of flavor. Like a mashup of a Vienna amber lager and a West Coast IPA. Excellent.
