Cask at the Post Office Vaults, Birmingham on 13th December 2024. Sepia brown with yellowy white foam and full lacing. Malty aroma with chocolate liqueur notes. Rich and intense roastiness in-mouth and a bitter finish. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. A splendid adventure.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Post Office Vaults on 8th November 2024. Clean and clear golden body, white affair on top. Dry, slight citrus fruit leaning, weak nose but a decent enough Pale Ale, semi-bitter overall.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours golden amber with a medium sized foamy off-white head and good lacing. The aroma has grains, honey and malty sweetness. In the mouth it is quite bitter with some traditional hops, malts and biscuits. Later there are hints of ginger and spice leading to a slightly dry finish. This is decent enough.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours golden amber with minimal off-white head and good lacing. Malts and traditional hops mix well in the aroma. In the mouth it is juicy with superficial sweetness but some underlying bitterness which increases to dominate. Malts and traditional hops again plus later on some pine and grapefruit hints. Finish is fruity and slightly dry. This is decent – nicely balanced.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 11 August 2024. Deep golden in colour, with a slight, white, head. A touch of hedgerow hop, rich tea malts, some caramel sweetness and a suggestion of hay, leading to a dryish finish. Fine.

Fra cask på Mossy Well: klar dyp gyllen med fint skum som varer helt ned. Deilig urtebitterhet sammen med furunåler, litt besk citrus og god maltsmak.
