Description
Acorn Brewery is born and bred in Wombwell Barnsley, where we have been growing up since 2003. Moved to current address in October 2007. Since the very first brew of Acorn Barnsley Bitter back in 2003 the brewery has amassed over 50 awards for the quality of its’ cask and bottled beers

Cask at Maidenhead Inn Spoons, Basingstoke. Roast and liquorice aroma. Dark cola brown. Creamy beige head but not particularly strong. Light bitter. Coffee, liquorice. And gets more creamy. Medium bodied. A thin creamyness. Flat-soft carbonation. Low key long dry finish. Decent offering.

Cask at the standing order. Pours deep ruby, nose is liquorice, caramel, blackcurrant, roasted, taste is sweet, liquorice, burnt toffee.

Bottle from Coop. Pale gold in colour, with a thin, white, head. Sweetish, slight buttery start, followed by some sharp, spangles flavoured fruit, light malts and lingering bitter finish. Fine.
