Acorn Brewery is born and bred in Wombwell Barnsley, where we have been growing up since 2003. Moved to current address in October 2007. Since the very first brew of Acorn Barnsley Bitter back in 2003 the brewery has amassed over 50 awards for the quality of its’ cask and bottled beers

From cask at The City, Oldham Street, Manchester, with JFE and BG 20.01.18. Clear pale golden. Off-white head and lacing. Fine aroma and taste of pale malt, grains, bistuits and lemon and lime marmalade. Good quaffability!

Cask @ Seven Stars, Manchester. Dark red with a small off-white head. It has very light roasted malts with a small bitter finish.

Cask @ Beckett’s, Bank, Leeds. Blonde with a thick head. It’s a light textured hoppy ale with a high palatability.

Pours a deep dark brown almost black colour with a reddish hue when held up to the light and a small lasting tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate. A roasted malt taste, moderate sweetness with liquorice, coffee and burnt grainy flavours. A dryish bitterness in the finish.

7 3 8 3 15 Cask at Moon in the Square, Bournemouth. Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, Roast, cocoa and caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with very soft carbonation.

From cask at Lass O'Gowrie 29.11.17. Clear dark golden. Dense and persistent head and lacing. Excellently balanced aroma and taste of pale malt, fine hops, nuts and some caramel. Very quaffable! Hop bitterness, grass and brittle in aftertaste.

[ As Acorn The 13th Noel ].Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, dark malt, roasted, moderate hoppy, grass, citrus, fruity hops. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity hops, roasted, dark malt, sweet malt, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask-conditioned at a JDW in York 22/7/2017. Deep gold in colour, with a moderately-sized, white, head. Citrus fruit aroma, biscuity malts, grassy hops, some spicy notes and a dryish finish. Enjoyable.
