Description
Waterloo Beer is brewed with care in the Mont-Saint-Jean farm, the famous 'English Hospital' of the Battle of Waterloo. More than ever, this high-quality beer is a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship and courage. In 1815, during the famous conflict, the troops were supplied with high-fermented beer that gave them strength and courage to face each other. Two centuries later, Anthony Martin is proud to revisit this moment in history by reviving the local beer quality, prepared strictly according to the original recipe: Waterloo – beer of bravery!

Bottle @ home. Hazy pale yellow color, full sized white head, quite dense and it lasts for a long time. Aroma is a bit artificial citrus. Sweetened it seems. Flavor is about the same. Sweetened, artificial, wheat. Although quite artificial, it’s not too bad. Drinkable, definitely on a hot day I think. Smooth mouthfeel, average low to carbonation.

Tap Rather insignificant witbier. It has what it should, but it’s just not enough for the podium.

Pale pink head, dense, over ruby, clear, big-bubbled beer. Syrupy nose, childrens’ cherry sweets, cherrylaurel (as in medicinal preparations), bay leaf. Again this cherrylaurel flavour/retronasal aroma, if seriously diluted compared to cough syrups. Way too artificial by half for a kriek, the fruit is far away. Some caramel. Bit sticky, leaving a film on the mucosae. Feels better carbonated than it looks. Medium bodied. Again such a one. AND WHERE THE F*** IS IT BREWED? 5/4/3/2/8

Bottle from a Carrefour in Bruges. Pours cloudy yellow with a minimal white head. The aroma contains wheat, yeast, citrus and bread. It tastes light sweet and light to medium bitter, dry finish. Fizzy carbonation, light body, watery texture. Generic aroma, weak palate, nothing new here.
