Description
Waterloo Beer is brewed with care in the Mont-Saint-Jean farm, the famous 'English Hospital' of the Battle of Waterloo. More than ever, this high-quality beer is a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship and courage. In 1815, during the famous conflict, the troops were supplied with high-fermented beer that gave them strength and courage to face each other. Two centuries later, Anthony Martin is proud to revisit this moment in history by reviving the local beer quality, prepared strictly according to the original recipe: Waterloo – beer of bravery!

Bottled. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, nuts, and yeast. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, nuts, and yeast, leading to an alcoholic finish. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear, deep and warm amber with a huge, lacing beige head. Perfumy nose. Solid body, roasted malty, overripe fruit, brown sugar and a perfumy spiciness. Quite a bitter finish though. 211009

Bottled 33 cl (Bs, BB 03/2010). Slightly hazy golden color, small white head. Spicey nose has black pepper and iron plus some pear-dominated alcohol. Fruity flavor (pear, apricot), white pepper, alcohol. Long spicey aftertaste. A bit thinnish. Not much yeast in the bottle. Basic triple without any big faults; no highs - no lows that is.

Bottled (Bs, BB 01/2011). Dark ruby-brown color, medium-sized off-white head. Caramelly dark fruity nose with some brown sugar and alcohol. Crisp carbonation. Caramel, spices, some licorice, iron. Long spicey and alcoholic aftertaste. This one has more "bite" than standard middle-on-the-road abbey dubbel.
