Description

Bottled 25cl, alc. 6 % (BBE 2007). Muddy hazy dark brown, big tan head. Dry woody, hazelnut and lightly berry-like aroma. Dry flavor, asparagus, hazelnut, wood, malts. Carbonated, even slightly coca cola -like. Not very likeable.

Bottled 25cl (BBE 2006). Hazy orange-yellow color, huge Duvel-like cloudy head. Nose is a bit smokey and metallic, there is wheaty (leather, banana) and fruity sweet aroma like in hefeweizen. Very carbonated mouthfeel. A bit spicey, sweetish with banana flavors. Dry aftertaste. I would say this is wheat beer if not knowing that spelt has been used.

Der Geruch erinnert mich an eine Wiese. Das Bier ist würzig und überaus aromatisch, dennoch in einigen Teilen recht mild. Es ist schwer zu beschreiben, da das Bier ein ganz eigenes Aroma hat. Test vom 15.6.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 13,9,10,10,4,10 - 9,85

Bottle. Hazy yellow colour with a small white head. Fruity yeasty aroma with some spicy hints. Flavor of yeast some fruitiness and hints of spices. A bit thin but an okay beer.

Opaque brown beer; small disappearing yellow-brown head. Bit of coffee nose, lot of dark - well, not-malts, rather colouring liquids. Grainy taste, ever so slightly and not unpleasant acidity. Licorice, chestnut flour. Again, pretty watery MF, which makes me suspect colouring even more. Bland, rather.

Fully hazy orange-gold (not much amber); slightly irregular, small creamy and rather persistent head. Grainy and especially spicey nose, coriander, root- and barkspices, peppery, some citrus. Wry, bitterish taste, again various perfumey spices, as some mix put in an esoteric mens’ toilet water. Coriander, grains of Paradise, Szechuan pepper, etc. Acidity sustained by heavy carbonations, giving some predictable citrussy flavours. Very fizzy MF, rendering it rather light, cereals character behind. Farmyard flavours aftertaste. Not my idea of a great beer - rather some Dutch homebrew product. Amber??

Fully hazy, light milky yellow; good white head, a bit fluffy. Perfumed nose, coriander, grains. Citrus too, probably suggested by the coriander. Bitterish, very spicey-dry taste, touch of acidity. Much less uniform coriander than the nose, though it is still there. Other spiced difficult to name; character is quite "jenever" like. Light, wheat-like slickness, but much more crisp and refreshing than the Joseph. OK, I wanna be convinced, it isn’t the same as Joseph. Moi, je veux bien - but that’s not saying it necessarily better - and I thought they had capacity problems at Silenrieux?

Hazy golden color, big head. Strong aroma of cereals. Some sweetness. Ordinary, but spoiled by some sourness (infection?)
