Bottle from Smoky Bastard, Makati City. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a frothy lasting tan head. The aroma is roasty caramel malt, liqouirce, red berry fruits, light medicinal. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, earthy slightly oily, fruity, liqouirce, light dry coffee, light alcoholic palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Looks great and was nice and smooth but lacked sweetness and didn’t taste like an imperial stout should. There were tart fruity medicinal notes in there which didn’t suit an imperial stout.

Tap at the Spektral Lounge, Makati. Poured a hazy light golden orange colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malt, grapefruit citrus fruit, dry hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a smooth fresh citrus fruit, dry pepper spice, big woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Big, fruity and bitter! A few more bubbles might have been nice but still a great beer than I could drink all night long.
